Terms of Use
Last updated: July 2026
These Terms govern your use of Paths, operated by Paths Labs Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (Company No. 17175677). By using Paths, you agree to these Terms.
1. About Paths
Paths is a mobile app for iPhone and Android that turns movement into refined visual records. It allows you to record, create or upload movement data, generate visual outputs, and download, share or gift those outputs. Paths is not a fitness tracking service or social network.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use Paths. You confirm that you have the right to use any data you upload and that your use does not infringe third-party rights.
3. Your Content
You retain ownership of your routes, titles, and any text you add. By using Paths, you grant us a limited licence to process, store, render, and display your content solely to provide the service.
4. Early Access and Founding Circle
Paths is currently available in early access. During early access, eligible users may receive full access to the features made available in the app from time to time.
The Founding Circle is a limited early-access programme running for 100 days from 10 July 2026 until 18 October 2026, unless Paths changes those dates where reasonably necessary and gives notice.
Members who join Paths during the Founding Circle period, while places remain available, may receive a Founding Circle badge and be eligible to be considered for Founding Member status.
Founding Circle membership does not guarantee free access for life.
At the end of the Founding Circle period, Paths intends to recognise 1,000 members as Founding Members. Founding Members will receive full access to Paths, free for life, subject to these Terms.
Founding Member recognition is based on a contribution score reflecting meaningful participation in Paths and contribution to its early growth. This may include creating and keeping movements, using available features, sharing or gifting content, providing feedback, and inviting people who genuinely join and use Paths.
Paths does not publish the detailed scoring methodology, weighting, ranking logic or fraud-detection measures.
Referral credit will only be awarded where an invited person joins through an eligible invitation and completes qualifying activity in Paths. Downloads, account creation alone, duplicate accounts, self-referrals, manipulated activity, automated activity, false referrals or other attempts to unfairly influence the programme may be excluded.
Paths may verify activity, investigate suspected misuse, remove Founding Circle badges, exclude users from the programme, or disqualify accounts where it reasonably believes the programme has been misused.
Founding Member selections will be made after the end of the Founding Circle period. Paths will contact selected members using the contact details associated with their Paths account. Paths’ decision on eligibility and selection is final, subject to any rights you may have under applicable law.
Founding Circle places are limited. If capacity is reached before the end of the 100-day period, Paths may stop accepting new Founding Circle participants and offer later users the option to join a waitlist.
5. Subscriptions and Payments
Paths does not currently charge for early access, and no payment information is collected from you today. Paths may introduce paid plans or features in future. Any future pricing, payment terms and changes to access will be made clear before they take effect.
If paid subscriptions are introduced, they would be purchased and billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play, depending on your device. In that case, billing, renewals and cancellations are managed through your Apple ID or Google account subscription settings, and payment is processed entirely by Apple or Google, so we do not see or store your card details. Any applicable refunds would be handled according to the relevant store’s policies and your statutory rights.
6. Digital Content and Refunds
Outputs generated by Paths are digital content. If your content is faulty or cannot be accessed due to a technical issue on our part, we will fix the issue, provide a replacement, or issue a refund where required by law. Except where required by law, refunds are not available after successful delivery.
7. Third-Party Services
You may connect services such as Strava. By doing so, you authorise us to access your data and accept their separate terms. We are not responsible for the accuracy of third-party data, service interruptions, or changes to third-party services.
Paths uses an AI service (Claude, provided by Anthropic) to generate suggested movement titles and notes. Suggestions are generated from a sample of your route coordinates and any context you provide. They are not guaranteed to be accurate or appropriate. You are responsible for reviewing and editing any AI-generated content before saving it to your account.
8. Acceptable Use
You must not upload unlawful or infringing content, attempt to disrupt the service, or misuse integrations or APIs. We may suspend accounts for misuse.
9. Intellectual Property
All platform systems, rendering methods, and design frameworks are the intellectual property of Paths Labs Ltd. You may download and share outputs for personal use. You may not resell outputs, use outputs commercially without permission, replicate or reverse engineer the platform, or use the service to build a competing product.
10. Sharing
You may share your outputs on social platforms. If you tag or reference Paths, you allow us to repost your content for promotional purposes unless you request otherwise.
11. Liability
Paths is provided “as is”. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service or error-free performance. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including loss of data or profits. Our total liability is limited to the amount paid by you in the previous 12 months.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot be excluded under law.
12. Data Protection
Your data is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
13. Termination
You may stop using Paths at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts for breach of these Terms.
14. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
We will not materially change the Founding Circle criteria, the number of Founding Members, or the lifetime-access benefit during the programme, except where reasonably necessary to prevent fraud, comply with law, address a material technical issue, or provide a reasonable equivalent benefit.
15. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you access Paths from outside the UK, you are responsible for complying with local laws.
