Why Paths

Movement became easier to navigate.
Easier to measure.
But not easier to keep.

Paths was built for the movements that become part of life.

Built to keep, not to compete.

No feed. No scores. No pressure to perform. Just a private place to name, keep, revisit, share or gift the movements that matter to you.

Everyday movement belongs here

A familiar walk. The school run. A commute. A road trip. A first run. A journey through somewhere new. Paths is not only for exercise or achievement.

However it happened

Record directly in Paths, bring in something captured elsewhere, or recreate a movement you did not record at all. The movement does not need to begin in Paths to belong there.

Private by default

Your movements remain private unless you choose to share or gift them. There is no public feed and no expectation to perform for anyone else.

Kept over time

Return to movements by day, week, month or calendar. Bring related movements together in Series, and keep the notes, people and photographs around them.

Our story

It began with a run.

On 21 September 2024, Paths founder Niluka Ratnayake ran her first 5K through Kensington Gardens.

Apple Fitness captured the distance, route and time. It showed where she had been, but it could not hold what the run meant.

More than a year later, that run became the first movement kept in Paths.

It was given a name

But I can move.

Tracking captured the run.

Paths kept what it meant.

The next layer is memory.

Navigation helps us get there.

Measurement helps us understand progress.

Paths is where movement becomes memory.

Your movement memory starts here.
